HONG KONG TRAVEL DIARY (DAY 1)

Photos from DAY 1 of the Can't Help Falling In Love in Hong Kong trip! I don't really know how to call it so let's leave it at that. Haha!

The rest of the team already flew in Friday night while Direk Mae and her husband, as well as Kath's make-up artist Justine and I all arrived Saturday morning.

Philippine immigration was CRAZY. I left the house a bit later than I should have, but I can't help but think the situation will still be like this if I left earlier. I spent around an hour waiting in line. I even had to line up at the OFW queue a few minutes before boarding so I can take my turn already.

Our flight was not supposed to be delayed but it was because we had to wait for a few passengers who were stuck at immigration. Anyway, didn't get to sleep last night and didn't get to sleep on the 3-hour flight so you can just imagine how much I just wanted to lie down and take a power nap the moment I get to the hotel room. But THAT DID NOT HAPPEN.

We landed in Hong Kong on time and we exited at an unfamiliar gate. Had to take the train to Terminal 1, so that's something new! What I love about Hong Kong is that they always have English translations on their signs so it isn't really hard to wander around.

Here we are, a very familiar scene! Walked around for a bit and coordinated with the rest of the team before I took the Airport Express to Kowloon!

Just some of the interesting places I passed through while riding the train then the shuttle from airport to Kowloon to the hotel! That anime place looks so cute! Not sure what it is though. Also, I've been to Hong Kong so many times already but I still haven't tried that Hello Kitty restaurant!!! Should do so on my next trip.

Got to the hotel but everyone else are still at the location for the premiere, so I waited at the lounge and worked a little bit. A few minutes later, this Chinese lady sat in front of me doing a live stream on her phone. She seemed to be famous because I got to take a peek on her phone and she's got thousands of viewers, the comments wouldn't stop coming and she just kept thanking everyone. All she did was read comments out loud and sing. Hmm, I wonder who she really is.

Anyway, team CHFIL arrived and we immediately had a quick meeting about what's going to happen the next day. We also discussed other plans and such. We then went up to the rooms to record Kath and DJ inviting everyone for tomorrow's event before finally having late lunch!

BTS! HAHAHA! After this, Sir Mico and I decided to have lunch around the area na lang while Kath and DJ had their own places to go to. Tita Min mentioned they were going to go look for some nail stuff for KathNails. Saya!

FINALLY, super late lunch! Haha! Sir Mico and I walked to Ichiran from the hotel upon Kath & DJ's recommendation. We attempted to line up but the queue was SO LONG and we were SO HUNGRY already we decided to skip it and just look for another place to eat. We ended up at K11 mall then debated whether we'll queue for Dohtonbori (which is more familiar and mas maraming tao) or just try the restaurant beside it called Gyuhachi Shabu Shabu & Sukiyaki Restaurant. O diba, buong-buo. Haha! Because we ended up just eating there!

It was both our first time eating shabu shabu -- sobrang funny because neither of us knew how it works! At first we were asked what broth/soup base we'd like. Then we picked whatever we wanted to boil/steam with the broth from the buffet. We were also served three layers of yummy beef -- and we had to eat everything we can in 90 minutes! It was more than enough time.

Odiba, parang nilaga lang? HAHAHA! In fair, it was good naman and very filling, even without rice. I usually get annoyed when the food is very hot but I surprisingly liked this meal. We also enjoyed looking at other people's tables to see how they are doing it then copying them after and just laughing at how stupid we seem! HAHAHAHA. Oh well, at least na-try na namin!

Of course there was still room for dessert. Loved the frozen yogurt section of the buffet!

Random street photos from our 40-minute walk from Mongkok to TST!!! Haaay! Buti na lang talaga I was wearing comfy shoes, and I love walking around new streets. Hahaha!

1 - When I saw these I immediately thought of the boyfriend because he collects these! Didn't buy him though because he still has a few sets he has to build, plus I don't know which ones he doesn't have. HAHAHA.
2 - This is the first time I saw a lot -- I mean a LOT of street performers along the area. Aliw naman sila.
3 & 4 - People and buildings.
5 - Hong Kong street food!!! Weird nung eggplant and bell pepper though.
6 - The famous Nathan Road.

The view from our hotel room. Lovely!

Sir Mico and I rested for a bit while waiting for Direk Mae, Sir Benj, Kath, and DJ to decide where we were going to go for the night. I ended up deciding not to come anymore because I really wanted to sleep -- if we hadn't walked, then maybe I would have still had the energy to go out but yeahhh. My body just gave up on me. HAHAHA. I slept early! Perfect for the long work day the next morning! Hahaha, I just realized sobrang Tita move nung skipping a night out. Oh well! Maybe next time. :P
